Every treatment starts with a thorough consultation with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber. We take a full medical history and talk honestly about what you would like to achieve.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription-only medicine, so we will only recommend treatment if it is safe and right for you. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The treatment
Small amounts are injected into the masseter muscle on each side of the lower face using a very fine needle. The appointment takes around 30 minutes.
Aftercare
Discomfort is minimal and most people go straight back to their day. You may have mild tenderness, dry mouth, slight bruising, stiffness or redness, which soon settles. For 48 hours, avoid intense exercise, make-up, alcohol and touching the treated area. Avoiding smoking also helps your results. Read our full aftercare advice.
Your results
Results begin to show within 2 to 5 days and reach their full effect at around 2 weeks, when we recommend a review appointment. To keep your results, treatment is repeated every 3 to 4 months, and we will let you know when your next one is due.
