Your consultation
Every treatment starts with a consultation. We take a full medical history, look closely at your skin and talk honestly about what you would like to achieve, so we only recommend treatment that is safe and right for you. Depending on your skin tone, we may start with a skin-preparation routine before your peel. Darker skin tones may need a little longer to prepare.
The treatment
Your skin is cleansed and the peel is gently applied. You may feel some tingling or soreness. Superficial peels work on the outer layers with minimal peeling, and usually need about six sessions. Medium peels go deeper, with mild peeling and crusting, and most people need 3 to 6 sessions. Deep peels give more dramatic results with significant peeling, and only need repeating every few years.
Aftercare
Light peels usually heal in 1 to 5 days, medium peels in about a week, and deep peels can take a few weeks. Itching and peeling are normal, but please don't pick, as this can cause irritation and scarring. Stay hydrated and protect your skin from the sun.
Your results
Results depend on following your aftercare and completing any follow-up treatments. Scarring, infection and discolouration are extremely rare but can occur with deeper peels.
